When can I bring my dog?

Dogs permitted: 13 September 2026–25 March 2027 and 30 March–30 April 2027
Dogs not permitted: 26–29 March 2027 and 2 May–12 September 2027

During the busier season, higher visitor numbers, limited space and a lack of shaded areas on hot days mean that restricting dogs is the safest option for both visitors and animals. This also helps protect the island's historic environment and ensures everyone can enjoy their visit comfortably.

When dogs are permitted on the island, they are allowed in the harbour and village only. They are not permitted in the castle, castle grounds, summit, castle paths, garden, Steward's House Art Gallery, Harbour Loft, the Island Café or the shops.

If you're planning a visit with your dog, please check these dates before travelling, as access restrictions are in place to help protect the island, its wildlife and the experience of all visitors.

What about assistance dogs on St Michael's Mount?

Assistance Dogs are permitted to visit St Michael's Mount, including the harbour, café, Harbour Loft, shops, village, castle and the garden at all times throughout the year when we are open. If you require an assistance dog, please email us at enquiries@stmichaelsmount.co.uk to let us know in advance of your visit.

Can my dog go on Marazion Beach?

Marazion beach has a dog ban from 1 July until 31 August between 10:00 and 18:00. However, the beach is dog-friendly outside of these hours. Between 1 September and 30 June, dogs are permitted on the beach at any time of the day.
