Visitors may take photographs and video using personal phones or handheld cameras only, for private, non-commercial use. Additional filming equipment is not permitted on site, including, but not limited to:
- Drones
- Extra long selfie sticks/poles
- Extra large tripods and monopods that disrupt other visitors
- Lighting rigs
- Reflective/diffusion sheets
Filming or photographing into private apartments, staff accommodation, or other non-public areas of the castle, including through windows, is strictly prohibited, whether by hand, extended reach, or any device. This applies regardless of the equipment used. Guides and staff may ask visitors to stop, and reserve the right to ask visitors to leave the site for repeated or serious breaches.
Any filming or photography for commercial, professional, editorial, or promotional purposes requires prior written permission and is subject to a separate licence agreement with the National Trust, including agreed licence fees. This must be arranged in advance of any visit.
Photography and filming notice
Photography and filming take place regularly on St Michael’s Mount for marketing, promotional, editorial and other communications purposes. Any identifiable images of individuals are processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
If you would prefer not to appear in any photography or filming, please let a member of staff know as soon as possible and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. For more information about how we collect and use personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
