Visit the Mount during the Easter holidays and delve into a world of myths and legends in the historical castle, browse the shops for exclusive bespoke products, refuel with lunch in the Harbour Loft restaurant, enjoy a takeaway from the café or indulge in an Afternoon Tea. The Steward's House art gallery is welcoming visitors and comprises artwork by Newlyn School artists. The village and harbour are open to roam and this is a time to soak up the ambience of the island, as the daffodils dance in the spring breeze.
Access is either via a walk on the ancient cobbled causeway or via a boat ride across the channel from mainland to the harbour. Please see our access calendar below to help you plan your visit.

Explore the castle
The castle invites you to step back in time through winding corridors, offering a chance to uncover the layers of rich history and enduring legends. Our expert guides can be found along the route, sharing captivating tales from centuries gone by, ready to answer any questions you may have. Duck through historic doorways and discover how the building has transformed over the years from a medieval priory to a fortified stronghold and, since the mid-1600s, the cherished home of the St Aubyn family, who continue to reside here today.

Food & drink
There's an abundance of options when it comes to food and drink over Easter. The Island Café serves children's lunch boxes, Cornish pasties, sausage rolls, sandwiches and flaky pastries, while the Harbour Loft restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy dishes such as locally sourced seafood and fresh salads. Afternoon Tea is available from 14:00, serving colourful edible displays that are tailored to the rhythm of the season.
The Harbour Loft restaurant seating is available on a walk-in basis only, with tables assigned on arrival. Advance booking 24 hours prior is essential for Afternoon Tea.



Shopping
Browse a considered collection of bespoke, designer-led products, designed to reflect the character of the island. Alongside this, you’ll find a curated range of Cornish food and drink, with a focus on local producers. Artisan jewellery, mugs, keepsakes, candles and homeware offer thoughtfully made pieces to take home or gift.
Jellycat companions, Steiff bears, carefully chosen children’s books and thoughtful treasures fill the toy shop, inviting young imaginations to explore and discover. And, of course, no visit is complete without taking home a selection of traditional Cornish fudge and chocolates.

How to access the island
The island opens at 9:45 and closes at 17:00 daily, last entry onto the island is at 15:45 and it is closed Saturdays. Access on and off will be via the causeway or boat, which will vary every day according to the tide times. Please view the access calendar on the link below for tidal times to help you to plan your visit.
National Trust members
If you book a castle or garden ticket your National Trust membership type will be verified on arrival, so please book tickets according to the number of members in your party and bring your current, valid membership cards with you on the day.
Dogs
Dogs are not permitted to visit the island between 2-19 April. Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas. See our dogs policy provides further details.
